REVIEW: Good Hawker food in Singapore: 吃Western at Toa Payoh (Permanently Closed) and The Wholefood Kitchen at Bishan

I am not sure when did 吃Western started their shop in Toa Payoh but so glad i researched what to eat and stumbled upon this shop on burpple~ This shop is located near to Braddell but i don't think it is getting enough business due to it's shop location. I was there twice in the evening for dinner and the dinner crowd at the coffee shop was pathetic. :(

$6 for this chicken chop! Although i feel like it is quite reasonable for this price, but i wish they added more sides like fries. Anyways the chicken was grilled perfectly with the charred surface and the tender meat beneath. This was served with mashed potatoes and purple coleslaw.

I have forgotten the price for the pasta but i think it was around the same? The pasta was Al Dente and the creamy pesto with baby tomatoes and mushroom complimented the pasta well. I don't know about you, but i think it is not easy to find this kind of standard in western food stalls.

I also went to this stall called The Wholefood Kitchen. It is situated on top of the bishan bus interchange on the second floor at the cafeteria. I feel like it is not really a 'cafe' but a stall in a food court setting. Nonetheless, they serve really healthy food from wraps to salads. This one i am having is the Dry Thunder Tea pasta? There's Udon, Tofu, Cashew, Sesame, Shitake, Turnip, Spinach, French Bean, Carrot, Xiao Bai Cai, Green Tea, Herbs, etc. I feel like this was served abit cold to me and also the portion is quite big! Isn't it a creative and healthy take on this classic dish?
