Osaka June 2016 5 days 4 nights Itinerary - Day 4 Pt 2 (Sumiyoshi Taisha & Ramen Jouroku)

Continuing from where i left off in my previous post! So after my awesome pasta meal at Tsutenkaku tower, I left there for Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine.

Sumiyoshi Taisha is the main and most famous of over two thousand Sumiyoshi shrines found across Japan. Sumiyoshi shrines enshrine the kami (Shinto gods) who protect travelers, fishermen and sailors at sea. The shrines are therefore usually found close to harbors.
Anyways since it is a famous shrine, i slotted this into my itinerary.  Once you're at the entrance, you will be greeted by this huge stone sign that says "住吉大社" which also means sumiyoshi grand shrine. After you move slightly further in, there is this beautiful Sorihashi Bridge, which creates a uniquely high arch over a pond.

Look at how beautiful this is!! There are mandarin ducks swimming in the pond too.

500yen for a clay figurine that brings about beautiful connections for singles and couples.

Here's a proper photo of the bridge! Such a contrasting color among the greenery.

There are also turtles living in the pond. How i wish i could bring my turtle doug here and set him free in japan. XD Bet he will live a much happier life there than with me.

Leaving this beautiful shrine now!

I was famished after that but i wanted to go to a famous ramen joint........

Ramen jouroku(麺屋 丈六) it is!

Address: 6-16 Nanbasennichimae, Chuo Ward, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture 542-0075, Japan
Opening Hours: 11:30 - 3pm 6pm - 9pm daily
Closed on Wednesday

Nearest train station is at Namba.
There was already a long queue forming when i reached there. You know how it is in japan.. when there's a long queue.. it means that this restaurant has really yummy food! I based this on 3 trips to japan. XD It would be better if they have more chairs placed outside for customers to sit. There's only 8 seats inside this small ramen joint so you probably have to wait for more than 1 hour to get inside but trust me it is worth the wait!!

Look at all the awards that they have gotten!! I know i have made the right choice! ^_^

This bowl of ramen is absolutely delicious!! The broth is made of tonkotysu mixed with 3 different kinds of shoyu and it is served with charsiew, bamboo shoots and eggs(you have order this separately). Look at how thick the broth is! Just tell the person that you want to order Chuka Soba with additional egg. :)
