Day 4 of 7 in Tokyo, Japan (Yokohama - Minato Mirai - Tokyo Station)

Day 4 of my itinerary was to spend half a day in Yokohama. Yokohama somehow reminded me of Odaiba. It was not overly crowded and was quite pleasant. The sky was quite dark but it did not rain.

Apparently there was a port there and the scenery kind of reminded me of rainbow bridge. lol

Panorama photo of yokohama.

Whole field of daisies!!

The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse was converted to become a shopping complex! Nothing much to buy here though. You can just walk around after your breakfast/lunch/dinner at Bills.

There was a huge ship here! I think it's their navy patrol HQ or what. lol didn't see anyone walking inside though.

There was a bridge here!! Looks kind of like rainbow bridge!

Here's my breakfast at Bills! Will properly blog about this in a separate post! Was a good start for my day as the food here was yummy!!

Some pretty flowers! *___*

The cosmos clock 21 is a giant ferris wheel located at yokohama. It is part of the Cosmo World amusement park in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, Japan.

It is just opposite the cupnoodles museum.

It was a modernistic building inside and out. Look how nice the interior is!

They have a exhibit area where they show all their products.

The highlight of the museum is the cup noodles factory. You can choose to make the cup noodles from scratch meaning you start from kneading the dough or you can just design the cup and choose the different toppings and flavor. Saw that alot of parents were doing that with their kids so I just chose to design the cup instead. It's faster this way and the queue for this was crazy. It was a mixture of locals and tourists.

Putting the noodles into the cup..

Choosing the toppings..

Sealing the cupnoodle..

Statue of Momofuku Ando, founder of the cup noodle! Without him there would be no Maggie mee. lol

An area where they show the inspirations/innovations behind the cupnoodle

The shed where the first cupnoodle was born..

Video tour of the shed..

World porters was one of the malls there.. also nothing much to see. lol

The eye again..

Walked to Minato Mirai! There are quite a few malls in this area. Queen's Square, Landmark Plaza, World Porters and Red Brick Warehouses. I suggest that you can check out Queen's Square and Landmark Plaza. OK just read that there's a Pokemon center at Landmark Plaza. T_T Missed that out!!!

On my way to lunch! Searching for the famous ramen in yokohama.

Nice red building.

Forgot to take picture of the shop. xD But i waited quite long for this!! The staff seems reluctant to speak in english when they knew how to. The person attending to the queue does not speak in English and is quite rude to customers but the food is so YUMMY!! This is a must go if you're in Yokohama.

Yoshimura-ya (Yokohama) is the first iekei ramen shop. It is the first of its genre. It is the same like any other ramen shop where you have to purchase your food at the vending machine but this one dispense chips instead of tickets. There are no English words on the vending machine. Took me awhile to figure it out and of course i googled what people usually eat. Gotten an extra chip so I can have eggs!

Here's my piping hot ramen!! Served with seaweed, boiled spinach, eggs and roast pork. The soup maybe oily but it is so nice! It is a blend of shoyu and tonkotsu broth and the union of these 2 is perfection here. Just the right amount of saltiness here. Noodles were al dente. This is truly one of the highlights of my trip here!

After I went to Tokyo Station to have dinner! Spotted these babies at the pokemon center at tokyo character street. They're limited edition pikachus. That's Gyrados and Magikarp~ Totally did not regret going there since its far from yokohama. lol

Already tried Rokurinsha before so i am trying hirugao ramen now. They specialise in Shio ramen. Shio ramen broth is salt based. I usually just eat tonkotsu ramen because its really yummy by default but chicken and shio based ramen are sometimes not very nice..

This one had abit of queue at the time i was there.. like i said if there's a queue forming means its good? So like a true singaporean, i joined the queue!!

Chose the no 1 ramen!

It was yummy as expected!! The broth is quite clear but it was good! I think you would start to like Shio ramen if this was your first shio ramen. This comes with wonton, roast pork, seaweed, bamboo shoots and negi.

After this, i spent some time walking outside of the station. Did not find Tokyo Kitte though!! The basement is like a maze too!
