REVIEW: Come daily (Tian tian Lai) 天天来 Hokkien Prawn Mee at Toa Payoh

Well-cooked Hokkien Prawn Mee in yummy prawn stock with added gooey texture to the whole dish. Noodles soaked in the stock was very welcoming. Prawns were fresh but quite small. Pork lard and belly pork strips serves as garnishing. I love my hokkien mee wet and nice! Read that the noodles may taste better with chili but i am not a spicy eater. :(

Although the shop is called come daily also known as tian tian lai but they are not open everyday!! Please give them a call before you head down to avoid disappointment. Obviously I called before i went down and Lunch hours are packed with people so waiting is inevitable.

REVIEW: Marutama Ramen at The Central

Went for my dental appointment at NUH and then proceed to change some YEN for my upcoming vacation!! Went to the central afterwards for lunch before going to Raffles Place to run some errand. Some warm up in Singapore by eating some Ramen before eating the authentic one in japan. YES! I have had Marutama Ramen before but decided to try this again. :)

Their ramen broth is chicken based. Not too heavily flavored nor thick. It's light and cloudy in texture and the soup is yummy! Not really a fan of the thin noodles but their noodles are homemade hakata  style ramen. I ordered the $12 set. It comes with a piece of charsiew. I had to pay extra to add the egg. In conclusion, Marutama ramen is not really fantastic, may be forgettable but if you're a fan of chicken broth based ramen, this is the one for you.

It feels like everything is good in Japan but there are a lot of hit and misses here in Singapore. Some are good, some are not very good and those average ones thats neither here nor there. Unfortunately, this store falls in that average ones category. :(

REVEW: Lola's Cafe AT Kovan

Saved this draft for ages and with braces going on and what not, I have neglected the blog! Anyways, I had breakfast here on one of my off days! Came early to lola's cafe but was not allowed to choose a seat and the staffs there were quite noisy despite the limited space in the cafe. The staff said that I have to share seats if i were to be seated inside so they gave me a single seat right in the middle. BUT it was early when i arrived.. >.> Whatever, right?

Guess no one wants to sit outside.... They even have fork and spoon ready for you outside. Better wipe it clean.. ya..

Overall, I did not have a good experience eating there.

Here comes my latte with the perfect heart latte art. <3 Coffee was good here.

Also ordered the Eggs Atlantic set. Poached eggs drenched in hollandaise sauce on top of smoked salmon and brioche bread, served with garden salad in balsamic dressing. Nothing short of perfect here, If only service was a little better.
